Very fun and easy to use but needs to be updated more often with things relevant to astronomical news. I wanted to look for 3I Atlas with my telescope when it was at its closest to Earth. I tried to use Sky Map to help me find it, but searched results turned up nothing. It didn't appear on sky map when I pointed my phone in the direction it was supposed to be in either. Overall though, it's fun and interesting with a bunch of useful data for casual astronomers, and is usually very helpful.

Developer Response

Yeah - the data is all baked into the app (no internet required) which makes it hard to keep up with transient events like comets. By the time Google has reviewed the new app version with updated data, the event has passed. This is something we want to address in a new version while still keeping the app small.

This app is not accurate anymore. I have the GPS on and I have calibrated many times. I use the app and it's not correct. The moon is right above me and it's not showing anything correct

recent update has ruined app. it is now upside-down, stuck on night mode and cannot be adjusted.

Everything was upside down and would not rotate. I've loved this app for years! I changed my review back to 5 stars since otherwise it's been an amazing app.

Are you saying that the labels are upside down? We've had a small number of users report this but haven't been unable to reproduce it. Since you have a Pixel 9 Pro (which is one of our test devices), this could be useful info. Drop us a line at our contact email skymapdevs@gmail.com if you want us to investigate further.
