Update: I purchased the full version and promptly figured out the shuffle options. The app does all the things I need and then some. Thanks! Nice player overall. I came here looking for an alternative to VLC. I would have bought the app and kept using it, but for one annoying feature: the play button for an artist doesn't play their songs randomly (which is what I want, like in PlexAmp) but rather it seems to select an album and then plays the songs from that album in random order.

That behavior depends on queue and sorting mode. Try: • Enable Shuffle before tapping Play • Clear queue, then open Artist and Shuffle All • Check Library settings for grouping (by album vs tracks) If it still groups by album, it may be current behavior rather than true random.

You don’t transfer the app manually. On the new device: • Log in with the same Google account • Install Poweramp • Go to Settings - Already Purchased to restore Your license is linked to your account, not the device.
