Solid Explorer File Manager APP Review

Solid Explorer File Manager is a robust file management application that takes inspiration from traditional file commander tools. With its dual-pane layout, it simplifies the management of files, providing an intuitive and structured approach to file handling.

The app allows users to explore their device effortlessly, offering features such as file organization into collections and quick searches using various filters. Whether you want to view, delete, or share files, Solid Explorer has you covered.

When it comes to security, Solid Explorer shines. It employs AES encryption to secure sensitive files within a dedicated secure folder, ensuring that even if the app is uninstalled, your files remain protected. This robust security feature is crucial for those who prioritize data safety.

Additionally, Solid Explorer supports a multitude of cloud storage services, enabling users to manage files across various platforms from a single interface. This flexibility in accessing remote files makes it an excellent option for users who rely on cloud storage.

In conclusion, Solid Explorer is not just another file manager; it’s a comprehensive solution for users looking to organize, protect, and share their files efficiently. Its user-friendly interface combined with powerful features makes it a must-have for anyone serious about file management on their devices.

I'm sad. It's a very useful app, I bought it years ago and now I've been forced to automatically migrate to an app that requires me to buy a plan, and I can't install the previous version. This means there's no point in buying it. Disgusting. 😐

Developer Response

It seems like the app doesn't recognize your old purchase. You need to make sure the app is installed from the same account that was used to purchase the app. You can also try clearing Play Store app data to force fetching the license again.

Nice UI in many places, terrible UX in others (e.g. copying/moving files). Doesn't support virtual document providers for SAF, so doesn't work with apps like DroidFS (the way Material Files can). Has a built-in FTP server, but that's insecure, even on a private LAN. Built-in WebDAV server forces a new password every time. Has a bug (apparently a longstanding one) whereby it freezes on start and won't load until after a device restart. That bug is pushing me to my limit of patience with this app.

Internal pane is always starting with root folders?!? This cannot be changed. Card folders can be shown as I like.
