Tracker Detect APP Review

Tracker Detect is a specialized tool designed to help users find item trackers that are separated from their owners. It works specifically with Apple’s Find My network, which includes popular devices like AirTag and other compatible trackers. If you suspect that someone is tracking your location, this app allows you to scan your surroundings to detect any nearby tracking devices.

This application has over a million downloads, but user feedback has been a mixed bag. Many report success while using it, but just as many express frustration with its functionality, especially on certain Android devices. The app promises to help users identify unwanted tracking, but the effectiveness can vary significantly based on individual experiences.

While the primary goal of Tracker Detect is commendable—ensuring user safety and privacy—it must overcome several significant shortcomings. The lack of a whitelist feature has been a recurring complaint, as it causes constant alerts for trackers that belong to family members, sidelining the app's usability.

Overall, Tracker Detect is an innovative idea with great potential, but its current execution leaves much to be desired. Users looking for peace of mind regarding their tracking safety may find it useful, but should be prepared for some inconsistencies in performance.

There is literally no technical reason for Apple to not allow Android users to log into this app with their Apple ID, and detect nearby airtags that belong to them (or are shared to them)... I would buy an absolute boat load of airtags if they would do that. But in the current form, where I'm forced to go and find my iPad to do anything, airtags are kinda painful to use. They could even extend the discovery coverage by having this app work with the Find my network.
