ThredUP: Online Thrift Store APP Review

ThredUP: Your Go-To Online Thrift Store

If you're on the lookout for fashionable yet sustainable shopping options, ThredUP might just become your new favorite app. This online thrift store allows you to thrift and sell women's and kids' clothes with ease. With a claim to offer over 55,000 brands from Gap to Gucci, ThredUP promises to redefine your shopping experience while being mindful of your wallet and the environment.

ThredUP stands out with its hefty discounts, offering up to 90% off regular retail prices on a variety of brands such as Lululemon, J. Crew, and Zara. Not only can you shop till you drop with 60,000 new arrivals each day, but the app also provides a clean-out service, where you can send in your gently-used clothes and earn cash or credit. It’s straightforward: order a Clean Out Bag, fill it with clothes, and let ThredUP handle the rest!

The community aspect of ThredUP can't be overlooked. By upcycling over 200 million items, the platform is facilitating a more sustainable future in fashion. Users have shown appreciation for the variety of clothing available at fantastic prices, making it a must-try for any fan of thrift shopping.

However, while the ethos behind ThredUP is commendable, the app does have its flaws. Some users have reported challenges with search functionality and pricing inconsistencies. As with any online shopping platform, it seems there's an adjustment period as the app continues to evolve.

In conclusion, ThredUP is an innovative solution for those seeking affordable, second-hand fashion while contributing to a sustainable cause. Whether you’re looking to shop or declutter your wardrobe, it offers a viable answer. Give it a try, but be aware of its current limitations!

wow thredup you have gone down hill. the last couple orders I have received have been disappointing. I even had clothes sent through friends accounts that have been just as bad. Your sizes are WAY off and you absolutely DO NOT mark an item "very good" that is completely faded with multiple holes. Pathetic. you just lost a customer who will spend $150+ on most orders. this past one was over $200 and somehow an item wasn't available as well? You used to be great. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

I like Thredup, but the app continues to have issues. Unable to update saved searches. Continuing to receive notifications for deleted searches.

Cute clothes but a rip off & parasitic biz model with no customer support. Never send them anything to sell! For every 1 good thing I buy, I end up with 3 other things with holes, stains, or are nonreturnable. Photos aren't accurate and there is NO customer support, only AI! Nonreturnable or $4 apiece to return clothing PLUS shipping? They often reject excellent and new clothing, saying they will donate them charity unless you pay to have them returned? Very suspect and scammy.

I've had awesome customer service 99% of the time. I use the chat to talk to them and they are always pleasant, efficient and very helpful. I love shopping on here. This app works flawlessly just like their desktop site.

Terrible Business Model. $17 for a bag to send in 3 items. 1 item not listed or returned. 2 items sold and the payout was $5; but guess what? $7 service fee so no payout. The payout is so low, even if you sent in a whole bunch of items it wouldn't be worth your time. should have saved my stuff for eBay. What a waste

We are so sorry that your clean out didn't live up to your expecations. Many of our sellers use ThredUp because it's a convenient way to declutter their closets while earning a little bit of cash on the side. We do provide our payout estimator (thredUP.com/payouts) along with other helpful info to manage seller expectations initially.

Pros

Wide selection of brands
Up to 90% off retail prices
Easy selling process with Clean Out Service
Strong commitment to sustainability

Cons

Some users experience poor search functionality
Price inconsistencies with new items
